Frost Lewis was18 years A farmer who lived in New York come the American Civil War 1860 Census Mustered: Enlisted August 14, 1862 and given the rank as Corporal. Was promoted to Sergeant 23rd Wisconsin Infantry Company I. Captured by the Confederates and Imprisoned at Carrion Crow Bayou November 3, 1863 Listed as Casualty at same location Wounded. Mustered out of Mobile, Alabama july 4, 1865 1870 Census. Lewis was 28 years old Living in Blooming Grove Dane, Wisconsin Listed as at home. Most likely convalescing from his prisoner of war time.
